BRING EAR PLUGS, BECAUSE THERE’S… NO QUIET HOURS
No Quiet Hours is a DIY documentary about a DIY scene. Filmed in the spring of 2024 in Eugene, Oregon, the "docu-film" focuses on the rich and iconic underground college music scene that has thrived in the small college town in the Willamette Valley since the glory days of bands like Grateful Dead and Nirvana. Our documentary highlights the Pacific Northwest's history of college-town music and specifically the past four years of bands in the Eugene scene post-pandemic, detailing their shows and journey before graduating.
what is
no quiet hours?
This documentary is a celebration of music, community and the legacy of punk, grunge and rock music in the PNW as a vehicle of expression, identity, and refuge in the face of uncertainty. As an underground industry that generates almost $3 billion annually, the DIY music scene in the Pacific Northwest hasn't received enough attention for its indelible impact on modern indie music and cultural trends. For us filmmakers, this rambunctious yet close-knit scene has been a safe space from which to process and prepare for the world beyond college.
In the span of two months, we were able to complete 25 shoots throughout Oregon, interview several bands, and were even able to be the first to “officially” record a house show mosh pit with a go pro and drone.
