what is

no quiet hours?

Beyond the screen, No Quiet Hours expands into a vinyl soundtrack, COFFEE TABLE MAGAZINE, and DIY events, while anchoring a long-term Oregon-based collective to support emerging artists and filmmakers. With your support, this project becomes not just a documentary, but a cultural archive and a living platform for the FUTURE OF DIY.

Originally conceived as a commemorative project by University of Oregon students, the team recorded over 25 shows and conducted interviews with established artists, organizers, and emerging musicians across the region.

As production continues, the project has expanded internationally, with team members spanning the U.S. and Europe, generating global interest in Oregon’s DIY scene and highlighting its enduring cultural and musical influence.

No Quiet Hours is a feature-length documentary celebrating 50 years of DIY music in PORTLAND and EUGENE, Oregon — from the Grateful Dead and Nirvana to Dead Moon, Portugal. The Man, and The Decemberists.

Filmed over two years, it blends rare archives, bootlegs, and striking visuals with intimate interviews from iconic musicians and grassroots organizers. The film reveals how underground scenes create identity, resilience, and belonging — especially in a post-pandemic world.
